Cigalon

   Cigalon

Cigalon brings the cuisine of Provence to London. The restaurant, named after the 1935 Marcel Pagnol film, is housed in a magnificent former auction house on Chancery Lane. The glass-ceilinged, double height dining room, one of the London’s most dramatic spaces, has an open kitchen focused on the grill. Cigalon’s daily meat and fish specials are simply but expertly cooked on the grill and served with a choice of sauces and accompaniments. Examples include rib of beef, suckling pig and whole sea bass. Also available is the restaurant’s menu of classic Provencal cuisine including such dishes as pieds et paquets (lamb tripe and trotter stew), pasta with cuttlefish and salade nicoise. The wine list is exclusively French with a focus on Provence. Cigalon’s chefs are Julien Carlon (ex head chef of Comptoir Gascon) and Maxime le Van (the former head chef of Paradise By Way of Kensal Green).
