A classic of British Free Cinema focuses on the plight of the working class in the British industrial North, a million miles from the Swinging Sixties’ metropolitan revolution. Tom Courtney plays the rebellious teenager in a young offender’s institution, who must compete with the local public school in a cross-country race.
