A nurse, upset that her obstetrician lover is spending Christmas Eve with his wife, switches two of his client's babies shortly after delivery. Fifteen years later she confesses this to the doctor, as well as to the two families. The haughty, upper-middle-class Le Quesnoys find out that their precious little boy has grown up with the uncouth, lower class Groselles. They decide to get their boy, Momo, back -- though it costs them a bundle. But Momo's arrival causes havoc among the upright, uptight, Le Quesnoys, and creates a link between the two socially opposite families.
