Pomme (Isabelle Huppert), 19 years old is an apprentice in a hairdresser shop. She is very quiet and shy. Her opposite is Marylène (Florence Giorgetti), her collègue who likes to flirt and speaks loudly, this one decides to take Pomme under her wings. They go on holidays together to Cabourg where Pomme meets François (Yves Beneyton), a young and clever student with whom she falls in love. But when they come back to Paris, François says to Pomme that they have to live their life apart because of their different backgroung. Will Pomme accept it?
