Amour, winner of the 2012 Cannes Festival Palme d’Or, is directed by Michael Haneke (White Ribbon, Funny Games, Hidden) and stars Jean-Louis Trintignant, Emmanuelle Riva and BAFTA award winner Isabelle Huppert (The King's Daughters, The Piano Teacher).

 

The plot

George and Anne are in their eighties. They are two retired music teachers and their daughter, who is also a musician, lives abroad with her young family.  One day, Anne has a stroke. The couple's bond of love is severely tested.

Amour will be released in the UK on 16 November.
