Story: Adrien (Patrick Bauchau) is the solemn intellectual in St Tropez who refuses to be seduced by bikini-clad boy collector Haydée (Haydée Politoff). One lesson of the fourth 'moral tale', Rohmer's most erotically charged, is that the problems of individuals are as important as those of the state, a line that led the Cahiers group to reject him as a reactionary.
