Fatima at The Islington Assembly Hall - 18 November

18/11/2016 from 19:30 to 22:00

The Swedish born songstress Fatima is making a triumphant return to the stage, with a live performance alongside The Eglo Live Band at Islington Assembly Hall on Friday 18th November.

Fatima brings her unique spiritual energy to one of London’s most stunning settings.

Support comes from Manchester’s rising duo Children of Zeus aka Konny Kon and Tyler Daley, bringing their blend of hip-hop and soul to make this a very special night to remember.

Earlier this year, the velvet-toned songstress stunned us with a sold out show at Union Chapel, as her unique spiritual energy transpired through her music and came to light on stage.

Fatima captures elements of modern soul and delicate electronic sounds in her music, her latest release “Yellow Memories” was voted Album Of The Year at Gilles Peterson’s 2015 Worldwide Awards and made No.10 in Rolling Stone Magazines Top 20 RnB albums of the year.

With such high acclaim, Fatima and the amazing Eglo Band have gone on to tour the world and perform at Glastonbury, Montreaux Jazz Festival, The Royal Opera House and Dour Festival.

And within the last 6 years of her career, Fatima has become Eglo’s first lady thanks to a string of acclaimed EP releases, collaborations with Dâm-Funk, Shafiq Husayn (of Sa-Ra) and Hyperdub’s Scratcha DVA, and an award-winning live presence fronting the Floating Points ensemble and her own live band.

Not to mention, she recently signed to the prestigious Jazz label Blue Note. In celebration of this, Fatima released a 5 track EP entitled ‘Still Dreaming’ with production from Flako, The Spirit, as well as Bay Area duo Teeko and B.Bravo.

See that raw energy and beautiful soulful voice in the opulent surroundings of Islington Assembly Hall in November.

“Stylistically, Fatima could be compared to forebears Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and even—at her most whimsical—Janelle Monáe, but her delivery exudes a light sweetness, even when confronting heartbreak”. Pitchfork

“As powerful and mesmerising on stage as she is in the studio, Fatima possesses a talent heard all too rarely in today’s musical climate.” Rush Hour

“Children Of Zeus have found the right balance between old-school soul and Manchester grit.” Complex Mag
