Thérèse Raquin at the Southwark Playhouse - 11 August to 3 September

From 11/08/2016 at 07:00 to 03/09/2016 at 07:00

Trapped in a sexless marriage with her sickly cousin Camille, Thérèse Raquin embarks on an illicit, turbulent affair with her husband’s friend Laurent, that leads to madness and a horrifying conclusion.

Written in 1867, Émile Zola’s seminal novel proved a literary sensation. It’s honest and powerful portrayal of the overwhelming force of human desire remains shocking to this day.

Secret/Heart’s most recent production at Southwark Playhouse was Tony Kushner’s A Bright Room Called Day, following on from his version of Corneille’s The Illusion and Herman Melville’s Billy Budd. These productions earned the company a total of eleven award nominations.
