A night dedicated to French Repertoire by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall
12/02/2014 from 19:30 to 22:00
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with their Principle Conductor Charles Dutoit are performing a night dedicated to French repertoire including the evocative and sensual
masterpiece that is Ravel’s ballet /Daphnis et Chloe/ at the Southbank Royal Festival Hall with soprano Nicole Cabell and the Philharmonia Chorus.
This is an unmissable opportunity to see, and hear, Dutoit guide the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra through the complete ballet. Ravel’s score is an evocative, sensual masterpiece, full of precisely articulated colours and seductive sonorities. Poulenc’s Gloria is one of his finest works, brimming with rich harmonies, sinuous melodies and rhythmic verve. Dutoit and the Orchestra are joined by the Philharmonia Chorus and soprano Nicole Cabell.
