free A Celebration of Jean Genet’s Un Chant d’Amour

Jean Genet’s only film has had an enormous impact on other filmmakers and artists.Un Chant d’Amour will be shown at a one-day festival to celebrate the work of Jean Genet on 10th September at The Future Gallery, from 14h00 to 20h30. There will also be readings from his poetry, talks by experts, including Jane Giles of the British Film Institute (author of a study of Genet’s work) and the poet Jeremy Read. There will be showings of Patriche Chereau's L'Homme Blesse and Rainer Werner Fassbinder's Querelle. Entry is free, by ticket:

Wow! What a programme to celebrate one of the most important and yet mis-understood films ever made. Genet according to Patti Smith,was THE centre of the Beat Generation, and everyhting else which followed.
