Charles de Gaulle, London and the Resistance (1940-2010)

From 15 June 2010, there will be a series of events in London, centred
at the Institut français, to mark the 70th anniversary of the 18 June
Appeal by General Charles de Gaulle. Londoners will have the rare
opportunity to hear from four leading members of the Resistance who will
offer their personal accounts of life in war-time London and Occupied
France. *Raymond Aubrac*, *Stéphane Hessel,* *Daniel Cordier* and
*Jean-Louis Crémieux-Brilhac* will take part in a series of talks on 16
and 17 June.

A special film season, Resistance on Screen, will include the UK
Premieres of /*Libres Français de Londres*/, a unique and moving
documentary on the daily life of the Free French between 1940 and 1944,
and /*Apocalypse*/, an exceptional documentary series made up uniquely
of images from archives.
