Pelléas et Mélisande by Claude Debussy in Holland Park

From 01/05/2010 to 16/06/2010 at 23:59

@ 7.30pm

Opera Holland Park’s 2010 season opens next week with Debussy’s shimmering masterpiece, Pelléas et Mélisande. Pelléas casts a magical spell - beautifully performed by an international cast, this opera is one of the greatest and most challenging OHP have produced. It mesmerises the audience by drawing them in to a world of heartbreak and an undercurrent of violence and horror. Musically it is breathtaking, punctuating the rich and sumptuously orchestrated score with heart stopping moments of minimalism and quietness.

Anne-Sophie Duprels, one of OHP’s most memorable sopranos of recent years stars alongside OHP debutantes, Palle Knudsen and Alan Opie. Olivia Fuchs directs one that is not to be missed.

Pelléas is a work that should be explored and therefore, as our INSPIRE Project production for 2010, it also benefits from reduced prices.

For the opening night on Tuesday 1 June they are also offering tickets* at just £20.
