Pianist/composer Eric Legnini launches his trio album Trippin’ in the UK at Pizza Express Dean Street with his long-term collaborator, the colourist drummer Franck Agulhon, and NY-resident Thomas Bramerie on bass.

His new album Trippin’ is a nod to “Struttin’”, the Meters’ anthem album, and the sound of New Orleans, to which Legnini adds his enthusiasm for hip-hop, breakbeat and swing, the sounds of the seventies (recalled by Fender Rhodes) and the mixtapes of more recent years, of virtuoso jazz and aesthete soul. In all the trio forges its own original path and re-shapes the familiars.
