A Magnifique Fête of Chanson Française sung by French Girl Groups! Ooh La La!

The touring bands of the French Kiss Tour will perform at the Ciné Lumière in London.

The French Kiss Tour (ohh la la!), dominated by 3 French girl singer-songwriter groups, will make its way to London as part of a 10-date tour visiting Germany, the UK, Croatia, Bulgaria and Poland. Marking an integral part of French music culture, these lovely girls will be showcasing their song-craft and the tradition of Chanson Francaise to an audience in the heart of the French quarter of London, the Institut Francais in South Kensington.

Come and support them in the intimate and plush setting of the cinema in the Institut Francais! 

Entry will be on a first-come first served basis, with a capacity of 250 seats.

Claire Denamur

Discovered whilst working as a waitress in a restaurant in Bordeaux, this young singer plays her own version of intimate acoustic country folk, of course keeping that traditional French chanson feel whilst adding her own twist. With a vocal and song‐writing style similar to the Canadian Feist, Claire has toured Europe extensively and hasgreat radio appreciation in her home country. Claire's song 'In the Mood for l'Amour' will soon be featuring in a Sure advert in the UK ‐ watch out for it!

Zaza Fournier 

Like a 1950's matinee rock star, Zaza has created a winning formula of inspiration from her accordian to artists like Brigitte Fontaine, Elvis Presley, Edith Piaf and Tom Waits – what a collection! On the one hand with a retro‐kitsch tinge, Zaza is also fiercely contemporary, and yet still holds dear her French song‐writing heritage. Her strong visual identity only adds to this exciting new offering.

Oshen

According to her MySpace, Oshen is left‐handed, and is fond of writing in spiral‐bound notebooks. Perhaps this goes a long way explaining her sensitive and beautifully crafted lyrics and intense relationship with her guitar. Echoes of Beth Orton and Mansfield Tya abound, with her close attention both melodically and lyrically to the songs giving her a strong case to being one of the front‐runners in the current chanson scene.
