Bezançon's engaging, bittersweet drama zooms in on the life of a middle-class French family one character at a time, focusing on five pivotal moments taht changed their lives and that of a family as a whole, starting with the day their son Albert moves out to live on his own. As events unfold individually for Marie-Jeanne, Robert anfd their three children, the film shows the consequences on the other memebers of the family and the way they relate to each other.
