Eurockeennes of Belfort Festival 2009 in France

Eurockéennes is one of the best known festivals in France having built up a reputation in it's 20 years of existence for its diverse range of artists and for showcasing International talent with three open stages, one marquee and a sound system alongside home-grown French artists. The festival appeals to music fans of any genre.

International headliners, together with the most exciting cutting edge live acts, perform at the festival which ranks

amongst the best known in Europe. Eurockeennes presents a diverse range of styles from rock to pop to hiphop from the 70 artists due to perform over the 3 days, across 5 different stages. In 2008, Eurockeennes was attended by 100,000 music fans on the protected peninsula of Malsaucy near Belfort in the East of France.

Programming

Headliners and renowned acts such as Kanye West, the Prodigy, Peter Doherty, Slipknot or Tricky, will perform alongside young and promising bands like Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Peter Bjorn & John, the Londoner singer Just Jack , Noisettes an English band, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Airbourne and Diplo.

Eurockeennes annually presents an exploration of French artists and bands, this year with Laurent Garnier, NTM, Yuksek, Birdy Nam Nam, Gojira or Olivia Ruiz. There are also some UFO bands like Monotonix, Staff Benda Bilili, King Khan & the Shrines, Nneka, Rodrigo y Gabriela or Sleepy Sun.

The setting for the festival is beautiful, surrounded by lakes and hills with one of the stages on the beach. The food and drink stalls are numerous and filled with a wide variety of different things to tempt your taste-buds a far cry from the overpriced standard fare found at some of UK festivals.
