Can we bank on our Governments to solve the Crisis?

From 31/03/2009 to 15/05/2009 at 23:59

Taking place on Friday 15th May from 12.00 to 14.00 at the London School of Economics (the Shaw Library) with Paul Tucker, Deputy Governor of the Bank of England and Jean-Pierre Landau, Deputy Governor of the Banque de France.

The banking crisis has hit the UK harder than France. Why has this happened? Is it the governance of banks, the greater degree of globalization, the lighter touch of regulation, or the difference in official fiscal and monetary policy?  Our speakers will focus on the British and French experiences, but making comparisons with the US and other major countries.
