Paris Calling: A Season of performing Arts
July 2009.
"Paris Calling" is a joint project involving 25 venues over the United Kingdom celebrating the contemporary performing arts. Bringing together new and established names working in a wide range of disciplines, the season aims to encourage closer working relationships between French and British professionals, and expand audiences for their work in both countries.
This unprecedented collaboration between established authors, actors, artists and emerging talent will be showcased at over twenty of the UK's leading theatres including the Barbican, Sadler's Wells and Curve in Leicester. It features innovative, cutting-edge and experimental companies from France who will perform contemporary drama, circus and dance. The season's Patron is the acclaimed international French film star Juliette Binoche. Highlights of the season include Jérôme Bel's premiere, newly commissioned by Sadler's Wells in February. A must-see.
