The first French Wine-Growers Fair to be held in the UK will take place from 21 to 23 November 2008 at the Barbican Exhibition Centre in central London.

Over the three-day show, more than 130 traditional wine-growers from across France will present over 500 wines. For just £10 per ticket, visitors will be able to meet the wine-growers, sample an unlimited amount of wine, and purchase wine at producer prices. None of the wines on show at the fair are currently being distributed in the UK, which offers visitors a unique opportunity to buy exclusive wines at unbeatable prices.

There will be a wide choice of over 500 different and new wines, all of which are made by wine-growers using traditional and authentic methods. All of the French wine-producing regions will be represented, with wines from Bordeaux and south-western France, Burgundy, Champagne, the Rhone Valley, Provence, Corsica, Languedoc Roussillon, the Loire Valley and Alsace. There will also be producers of organic wines, as well as British wine-growers based in France. Wine-growers will offer tastings of red, white and rosé wines, as well as sparkling wine, which is ideal to drink during the end-of-year festivities.

For a small admission charge, visitors will be able to taste as many wines as they like during the three-day fair. Visitors will also be able to purchase wines immediately and at producer prices, as is customary in France at such fairs. There will also be special end-of-year offers available.

The organisers will provide a tasting glass for each visitor, and there will be trolleys to carry bottles in. Organisers will also offer the option of arranging for wine to be delivered directly to purchasers’ homes.

Several events will take place during the fair, including a prize draw to win bottles of wine. There will also be workshops providing information about wines, labelling and tasting.
