The centrepiece of its dining room may be a large indoor barbecue but the Cheyne Walk Brasserie dares to mix rustic with chic, serving up straightforward sunshine food in a belle époque dining room with sexy red chairs, kitsch chandeliers & turquoise banquettes. Justly famed for its supremely tender steaks, the menu also does a nice line in moreish side orders – a creamy dauphinoise or properly crispy fries, say – while serving up red mullet with red pepper confit for guests with lighter appetites. The hideaway location makes the place popular with celebs & the lush upstairs salon is a good place to starspot over cocktails. Lunch menus at £15 during the week and £20 and £25 at week ends.
