Ambassade de l’Ile, the London outpost of Jean-Christophe Ansanay-Alex’s l’Auberge de l’Ile on Ile Barbe in Lyon, has announced a special lunch menu: Le Dejeuner Complet. For just £32, a two course lunch, with two glasses of the sommelier’s choice of wine, mineral water and coffee is now available. A three course lunch package is also available for just £37.
“We have found that our lunch menu is very popular and our customers generally want to have a glass or two of wine to complement the meal. This new package offers the ideal lunch and - perhaps of key importance in the current climate - at a fully inclusive price.” Jean-Christophe says.
“We were delighted to be awarded a Michelin star and three AA Rosettes last month, so you could say that this offer is our way of celebrating our success and recognition!” he adds.
Dishes on the Dejeuner Complet menu are typically Lyonnais, as is most of Jean-Christophe’s cooking. Starters include a Lyonnais Salad, or Chicken Liver Mousse on a Tomato Coulis, main courses include Escalope of Scottish Salmon with Spinach, Beurre Blanc and Sauce Nantua (shrimps) or Free range Chicken Breast with Vinegar, Leeks and Potato Mousseline. Desserts may include warm Waffles with Chocolate Sauce and Crème Chantilly or that classic French favourite Iles Flotantes.
The menu, as with the a la carte and tasting menus, changes regularly, in order to use the very best, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.
Ambassade de l’Ile is open for lunch from Monday to Saturday. Telephone 020 7373 7774 for reservations.
