12 killed and 4 badly injured at satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo’s offices in Paris
France is in chock. Around 11.30am, two men armed with automatic weapons have stormed the Charlie Hebdo newspaper headquarter located in the 11th Arrondissement of Paris. In total, approximately 30 shots were heard. Twelve people were gunned down including the designers Charb, Cabu, Wolinski and Tignous and an additional four people are still fighting for their lives.
The two terrorists managed to escape in a getaway car after killing a policeman in the street. One of them shouted: “We have avenged the prophet Mohammad",“ Charlie Hebdo is dead!”. They have later abandoned their vehicle and are on the run and chased by the police.
France is now at its highest alert level and security at schools, churches and synagogues, department stores, touristic sites and transports have been reinforced.
